10 Easy Cocktails That Anyone Can Make

Are you new to the mixology game? These cocktail recipes only have a few ingredients and they're super easy to make! 

 

1. Whiskey Ginger

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. of Whiskey (preferably Jameson Irish Whiskey)
  • Ginger Ale
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Fill a lowball glass with ice. Pour whiskey into glass. Top with ginger ale. Float a lime wedge.

 

2. 7&7

Ingredients: 

  • 2 oz. Seagram's 7 Crown Whiskey (or Seagrams VO)
  • 7-Up
  • Lemon Wedge (for garnish)
  • Ice cube

Directions: Fill a highball glass with ice. Add Seagrams 7 and the other half with 7-Up or Sprite (or any lemon lime soda). Float a lime wedge.

 

3. Campari & Soda

Ingredients: 

  • 2 oz. Campari
  • Soda Water
  • Lemon wedge (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Directions: In a highball glass filled with ice, add the Campari, top off with soda water and garnish with a lemon wedge. 

 

4. Cuba Libre (aka Rum & Coke)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Dark Rum
  • Coca Cola (or other, if you prefer)
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Squeeze a lime into a Collins (or highball glass). Optional: Drop half the spent lime shell into the glass and muddle the oils into the lime juice. Add ice and rum. Top with cola and stir briefly. 

 

5. Pimm's Cup

Ingredients: 

  • 1/4 cup of Pimm's (No. 1)
  • 1/2 cup Ginger Ale (chilled)
  • 1/3 cup water (sparkling, chilled)
  • 1 lemon (slices)
  • 1/4 cucumber (media, halved lengthwise and cut into 4 spears)
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Fill highball glass with ice. Pour Pimm's into glass. Pour 1/2 cup Ginger ale and 1/3 cup sparkling water; stir to combine. Garnish with lemon slice and 1 cucumber spear. 

 

6. Screwdriver

Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 fl. oz vodka (or your choice)
  • 6 fl. oz orange juice (pulp-free)
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Pour the orange juice into a glass with ice, then pour in the shot of vodka. Stir and serve. 

 

7. Bourbon Peach Tea via Rachel Ray

Ingredients (Servings: 10):

  • 4 cups sweetened iced tea
  • 3 cups bourbon whiskey (of your choice)
  • 2 cups peach nectar (bottled)
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Peaches (fresh or frozen sliced)
  • Iced cubes

Directions: Combine and stir tea, bourbon, peach nectar and lemon juice in pitcher. Add peach slices. 

 

8. The Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. silver tequila (preferably Avion)
  • 1 oz. grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • Splash of club soda on top
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Build ingredients over ice in a Collins glass and stir to chill. Garnish with a lime wedge and strawberry. 

 

9. St. Germain & Champagne

Ingredients: 

  • 2 oz. champagne (Brut, or Dry Sparkling Wine)
  • 1 1/2 oz. liqueur (St. Germain elderflower)
  • 2 oz. club soda
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Fill a tall Collins glass with ice. Add Champagne first, then St. Germain, the club soda. Stir completely. St. Germain is heavier than wine, it will settle to the bottom unless mixed thoroughly. Garnish with a lemon twist, making sure to squeeze essential oils into the glass. 

 

10. Gimlet

Ingredients: 

  • 2 1/2 oz. Gin
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
  • Ice cubes

Directions: Add all of the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass or an Old Fashioned glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.
